Mission Excellence

Mission excellence is most ambitious & challenging programme of Govt. of Madhya Pradesh under 11th five year plan, with the target to identify & nurturing more than 10 lakhs students & youths. The programme aim to identify scientific talent from the target group of school and college going students, and young scientists & nurture them in selected field of science & technology.

Aim of Mission Excellence

To promote excellence, Innovation, Awarness about Science, Enterpreneurship and Skill Development. The programme has two composition to achieve aims.

  1. Vigyan Manthan
  2. Anusandhan

Vigyan Manthan

Vigyan Manthan-- Bright students thrive on praise and recognition. Through identification, recognition, information, nurturing, challenging educational programs and reward, MP Council of Science & Technology (MPSCT) offers support to the brightest students of state through "Vigyan-Manthan"


Seeing is Believing, exposure of Innovative Ideas; Recent Happenings and hands on Experiments etc have become easy tools for Nurturing students. The aim is to let these students get a unique exposure to scientific & Technological field & vivacious work going on in Nationally reputed research labs established in the Cities of the country, the opportunity to interact with renowned scientist working in national labs. & also face to face interaction with eminent scientist, of national & international frame, understading their work, feel of their ideas which will inspire them for achieving greater knowledge.



Selection Process

Student studying in Class 8th to 12th and Class 11th and 12th with science stream from any schools of M.P. of M.P. Board, CBSE & ICSE Board with 75% minimum marks in previous year examination are eligible for filling online application through council website. Nurturing of talent, development of scientific aptitude and temperament amongst the students & guidance is done by science teachers selected from schools of M.P. for this interactive tour. Teachers from science stream can apply online for selection through council website.

Journey To Experience Science

The journey starts from MPCST after nurturing. IRCTC arrange coaches to take the students to different destination along with teachers & MPCST staff. Students are provided with complete kit for journey. During journey the Guardian Teachers nurture students throughout the yatra. Students also write diary during yatra provided by MPCST which is their fun & learn experience of vigyan manthan kept as record with MPCST. Vigyan Manthan Programme help students to understand the importance of pure Science in everyday life & which create curiosities to take science as their career in higher studies. After yatra Students & Teachers are given a set of 8-10 science books of National Publications.



Visiting Science & Education Hubs

Experiment, Observation and Analysis are the basic components Of method of science. Journey places selected as such where there are laboratories of Space Science, Defence, Medical, Material Science etc., where institute strives to contribute to the Scientific, Academic and Technological goals of our Country. Students visited such places where they were fascinated by scientific toys at IUUCA and making of 'CHANDRAYAN' at ISRO. and many more astonishing science technologies at different cities of the country.


Anusandhan

Anusandhan encourage & support young scientists of the State, from all disciplines of Science & Technology to provide them support at different levels for undertaking research at National Level Research Institutions/ Research Laboratories/ Universities or for presenting their research work/model at national or international level.


Scholarship/Reward Programme

The scholarship being meant to motivate the student and promote the study of the ,subject, endeavor to promote academic excellence in India. This scholarship/reward ,given to Vigyan Manthan students and to college going students.


Vigyan Manthan Rewards

Special encouragement in the form of award and scholarship for further studies is provided to excellent students, who are identified by a final exam (at Bhopal), and their diary assessment. Based on the above a final merit list is prepared. Total of 100 students are then provided scholarship from the year up to five years.

Reward is offered for college students for promoting technical expertise atNational & International level & motivating the talent of state to compete at International level.

Impact of Programme

  • This programme has helped the students to have a scientific altitude temperament.
  • Total 1,23,465 students from all over M.P. applied for VMY till 2019
  • Total 7551 students visited different places in VMY.
  • 1300 students are selected for scholarship in 13 yrs.

Under Anusandhan

  • 5 students Palash Patodi, Manas Vaidya, Anubhav Yadav, Nidhi Jain and Shaista Sayyad from Mahakal Institute of Technology, Ujjain were selected by NASA to participate in the great Moonbugay race held in Huntsville, Albama USA.
  • Dishant Bisariya from Ujjain Engineering College was funded By MPCST for reading his research paper in APCCHE in Howard International House at Taipei Taiwan.
  • Sonal surana & Dishant Bisriya from Ujjain engineering college participated in Kennedy Space Centre Florida for presenting their model in 2nd,lunabotic minig project.
  • Students of Medicaps Institute of Technology & Management Dhamal Singh Kushwah, Bahubali Jain & Siddharth Jain visited USA to participate in Global Robot Design Competition of American Society of Mechanical Engineering at Orlando.
  • Pooja Jain student of MANIT, Bhopal also participant of VMY went to Fraunhofer Research Institute, Germany for Internship.
  • Varsha Jain for Internship Programme at Helmholtz Zentium Dresden Rossen droff University Germany.
  • Dr. Alok Ku Rastogi from Institute for Excellence in Higher Education Bhopal was funded for research project - Establishment of Microwave & Fibre Optic communication Study & Research Lab.

Achievements by Mission Excellence Students

  • 33 students from VMY 2007-08 were selected in JENESYS Programme which is a project advanced by the Japanese Govt. from the standpoint of providing a sound foundation for strong solidarity within Asia through large scale student exchange. Out of 33 students 3 students went to Japan - Deepika Gupta from Dewas, Himank Shah from Jhabua & Vikas Sharma from Sheopur.
  • Ramsha Sajid represented India in "Global Climate Change Summit" held on December 2010 at Copendegan.
  • 3 students were selected for EDUSAT programme. Poonam Ghore of Betul a student of VMY got 1st position in merit in 10th M.P. Board examination.
  • Students from 1st VMY selected for graduation in IIT, IISER, SPA IISC VIT & in other renowned Institutes of the country.
  • Mansi Sharma VMY student won a prize in Essay Competition organized by CSIR New Delhi, so awarded cash prize by Mission Excellence Division.
